Located in San Pedro de Alcántara, restaurant 1870 is in a listed building in the neighbourhood of El Ingenio, which was the site of a sugar factory created by the Marques del Duero. The building has been carefully restored and retains the charm of a bygone era, while the restaurant, which is spread over two floors of the building offers a combination of classical and modern dishes and many diners love to sit on its cool terrace with a 100 year old fig tree in its centre. Launched in 2014, the menu focuses on exquisite dishes using locally sourced, fresh products that are elegant in appearance and a delight in the mouth. The array of starters include Lobster Gazpacho and a Beef Steak Tartare, while the fish dishes include a Roman-style Hake and meat lovers can indulge in succulent Iberian Pork, lamb chops and much more.
